Schedule It!

Schedules can be busy, especially during the school year. Summer can provide some much needed downtime. Learning to sew or quilt is a wonderful way to enjoy some productive free time. You can even enjoy listening to an audio book or blog while sewing. Sometimes we need to schedule some "me" time. It doesn't sound very creative to schedule creativity, but sometimes that is how you can make it work.

Begin by booking an evening for yourself to set up your sewing machine where you can leave it set up and dedicate an hour to sew. If you have a project you are excited about also helps! Another idea is to book a workshop or private lesson with a friend, bring a coffee and enjoy some time together. Committing to one evening a week is helpful to make it a habit. Once the workshop ends, continue to commit to that slot as your sewing time.

As your project comes together, it will spur you on! I personally carve out 15-20 minutes every night as it helps me relax and the creativity time soothes my soul.

Grab your phone or personal calendar and book some time for you!
