Just Around the Corner.....

Days are slipping by and it is a bittersweet thought to think that I will be wrapping up my thirty-three year teaching career in a few months.

I am ready and excited to have the time to focus on my passion of teaching sewing and quilting full-time! When Home Economics was taken from our provincial public education system, I was gutted to not be able to teach sewing to my students everyday. I adapted and have poured my heart and soul into teaching elementary.

I maintained my passion by teaching sewing for our city's Recreation Dept and the Saint John Arts Centre. I also added sewing into my art program and enriched students who showed an interest or needed connections with their peers or adults. Sewing has been a blessing in my teaching career that I have used to show kindness by stitching and repairing teddy bears, clothes, mitts, jackets and even added name bars to jerseys.

I began Stitch Saint John in April 2022 and now am months away from having more time to grow this amazing opportunity. Thank you to my past and present customers for supporting Stitch!

I have a notebook packed full of ideas that I take with me wherever I go in case an idea jumps into my jumbled thoughts! It is packed full of workshops, Make and Take Nights, Sew Alongs, Blocks of the Month, Fabric Swaps and so much more! I hope my ideas inspire more to seek to bring joy to their free time.

Retirement, here I come!
